Guido del Monte has cornered Von Heck with his back to a river. Von Heck vows to fight on, beneath the darkest of skies he takes up a defensive position and awaits the onslaught.
As the Tileans advance Von Heck's knights suddenly charge the Tilean crossbows. The knights take a couple of casualties as they charge but win the melee and break the crossbowmen.
They surge forward into Long Drong Slayer and his dwarf pirates.
The Tileans are closing on the Empire positions. The soldiers are all too busy to notice a strange unnatural mist rolling onto their flank.
Long Drong's dwarfs had no time to shoot their pistols and three slayers die as the knights crash home.
Can the Empire troops hold back the Tilean attack?.
Long Drong and his Dwarfs are festooned with pistols and they rout the knights again!.
The battle rages on as the Tilean swordsmen are cutting down the gunners.
And lo!, undeath creeps silently from the unnatural mist.
That naughty little tyke the Count of Monte Drago is amidst his host.
The struggling soldiers now face a greater threat and the fighting stutters to a stop as all eyes turn west to gaze upon the advancing horror.
Manfred von Heck meets Guido del Monte and asks him to join forces.
To be continued...
That's quite a shocking twist! Was this the planned scenario from the start or random events? It's a great story line, but always interested in how they arise (the story lines, not the undead. For the latter I presume some kind of dark magic!)
ReplyDeleteThanks John, the story line evolved really. I was inspired to bring the undead in by this brilliant blog https://bigsmallworlds.com/ which features the undead in Tilea.
DeleteI gradually brought them in with little hints here and there. I plan to play more of the game this weekend and we'll see how it goes.
