I've managed to walk another thousand miles since the end of August last year, that makes 1000 miles in 40 weeks.
One of my neighbours, Les often walks with me. Les was a shepherd in the Lake District and he walks between eight and twelve miles a day, not bad considering he is eighty years old!. He is an inspiration and puts a lot of younger folk to shame.
In fact there is quite a community of old gadgies that walk these country lanes, they're amazing really.
And then I'll start again.
Happy days!.
Inspiring. I need to get walking but my knees are shot and I'm usually too knackered to do anything at the end of the day. 🤔
ReplyDeleteThanks Mike, I have arthritic knees and had to start my walking very slowly and build my mileage up. The steepest slopes are always painful, though.
DeleteCongratulations ! , walking is good therapy .
ReplyDeleteCheers Tony, it was you that inspired me to do the 1000 mile challenge in the first place. So thank you, it has made a big difference to my life.

Paul.
