I've played a couple more games of Kings of War this week, I used some of my 10mm Warmaster collection and converted all measurements from inches to centimetres.
Most models are Games Workshop with some Pendraken and Irregular Miniatures.
I used my 28mm Games Workshop Archaic Temple Ruins and some 40K trees as terrain pieces.
I have discovered that horde sized units are quite resilient in Kings of War.
There is a 15mm cannon in there too.
Empire wizard and flagellants.
The Tomb King sits in his ruins.
Empire commanders.
Skeletons shamble along.
The necromancer doesn't have to walk!.
Charge!.
Kings of War is a very, very enjoyable game and will get a lot of table time in our house.
Although I bought the hardcover rulebook, you can download the rules free from Mantic Games.

More Kings of War
I had another cracking battle between the Empire army and the Orcs, this time a game of Kill and Pillage using some quickly made objective markers. No pics though.
Today I played another using Chaos warriors against the Empire, it was another great game, full of incident and fun.
Here are a few pictures taken on turn four...
A Dragon Ogre standing in as Chaos spawn.
Here's a unit chosen for me by my son for Fathers Day many years ago when he was really young, I really enjoyed painting them but they haven't seen much action. I used them as Dwarf Beserkers in tonights game.
It was nice to get them on the table.
Ghost lurk in the temple, I do like the dangerous terrain idea.
Kings of War, love it!.

Kings of War, Empire versus Orcs and Goblins.
The Empire army.
The Orcs and Goblins, both armies come to a little over 1100 points. Some units are a few models short but I don't care.
An Orc archer troop attempts to cross the graveyard but are spooked!.
The greenskins surge forward. The mammoth is using the stats of a giant!.
Empire shooters occupy a ruined building.
Crunch!, the Orc chariot gets smashed to matchwood.
Boom!, the cannon scores a direct hit on the Orc Morax unit causing them to waver.
Fleabag riders attack the Priest.
Crunch again!, the mammoth gets stuck into the Empire Guards.
Empire handgunners attempt to rescue the Priest.
After killing the chariot the Knights destroy the Orc archer troop.
The mammoth makes mincemeat of the Guards while the little Orclings attack the Empire general.
The Dwarfs get stuck into the hated greenskins.
Knights destroy the Orc archers.
Fire!.
The Dwarfs finish off the Orc Morax.
After destroying the Guards the mammoth attacks the cannon crew who had the temerity to shoot it.
The Orc general desperately hurls himself at the Empire general.
The fleabag riders meet their doom at the hands of the Knights.
The other unit of Knights are returning to the fray.
The cannon crew somehow manage to survive long enough to be rescued by the aforementioned Knights. The red counter ( pool of blood ? ) shows that they are wavering.
I ran out of picture space after this but the Knights charged the mammoth in the bum and the Orcs were heavily defeated, 860 points to 250.
Great game, I must make some stands for them.

War and Conquest in the Holy Land
I had another very entertaining game of War and Conquest on Sunday using my Romans again. I didn't take any photos, I just concentrated on the game.
Today I had another small game set during the First Crusade...
The Crusader Knights charge into the Ghulams.
The other Knights attempt to drive off the Turkomans.
The battle lines approach.
The Syrian line as the first Crusader Knights crash home.
Christian spearmen advance.
The Syrian Ahdath, very old models they are some of the first I ever bought and painted when I was fifteen or sixteen!.
Some more recent aquisitions, Irregular Miniatures.
After breaking through and destroying the Ghulams the victorious Knights smash into the second line of Ghulams.
However the other Knights are frustrated as the Turkomans use feigned flight to avoid melee while wearing down the Knights with arrows.
They are now badly depleted.
The Ahdath charge into the Crusader spearmen.
With the aid of the Syrian general the second line of Ghulams defeat the other unit of Knights.
The Ahdath are defeated by the Crusader spearmen.
The Ahdath flee taking the archers with them.
The Turkomans fall back once more from a last desperate charge by the remaining Knights.
Isolated and very vulnerable!.
Surrounded, the remaining Knights are destroyed by a storm of arrows.
The Ahdath spearmen and the archers rally.
Arab javelinmen prepare to hurl their missiles at the enemy.
The Crusader general is defeated.
A great game, fast and furious, the rules are excellent.
