Kallistra knights for Warmaster

I managed to paint my new Kallistra knights over the weekend and made them into three Warmaster units.

Technically I am four men shy but I quite like the gaps on the stands, I think it gives them a bit of movement.

They are very nice castings and I am delighted with them, I would definitely buy from Kallistra again.

Here they go, riding past their General.

As usual with my painting efforts they don't stand close scrutiny but they'll do for me.

Kallistra are advertised as 12mm so here they are sandwiched between the nominally 10mm Games Workshop on the left and 10mm Pendraken on the right.

And once again at a lower angle. The little gadgies fight just as well as the bigger ones however.

In regards to size differences you may find the next pictures amusing.

Here is a blurry shot of me with some little people I found on a bridge and while I am nearest the camera there is still a heck of a difference in scale.

Here's me with some more little people doing a bit of twanging back in the 1980's.

Even this T-34 tank seems a bit underscale to me!.

Scale is a funny thing.

  1. Great painting... I have a few Warmaster armies I did when they came out, but couldn't paint them now. Those pictures really do highlight that people come in all sizes and wargamers shouldn't worry to much about mixing manufacturers.

    1. Thanks Springinsfeld, I think that at 6'6" I may be a little overscale, a bit like those GW knights that are way bigger than the rest of the Empire range.
It all looks OK when the dice fly though.

  2. Nice work there Paul on the Knights. Years ago I had Warmaster Armies- Dwarfs and Orcs...at the time I thought the Citadel stuff was pricey- I'd hate to think what to-days price is...also, I don't think Games Workshop do 'Warmaster' any more. Cheers. KEV.

    1. Hi KEV, you're dead right, GW in their wisdom dropped Warmaster years ago. It has been developed and updated by the fans and new ranges of 3d figures have prompted a bit of a rebirth.
Nice to hear from you. Take care,
      Paul.
