Lion Rampant in 15mm

I have a small collection of Mikes Models and Peter Laing 15mm Medievals from way back. I bought them to use with Bill Lamming's Medieval rules. I liked the campaign rules but the battle rules involved tracking wounds on individual soldiers which put me right off.

The toys are an eclectic mix spread over the Middle Ages, they were bought sight unseen but my 17 year old self didn't care too much about historical accuracy.

They were organised in units of 10 which doesn't fit the 6's and 12's of the Rampant series of rules. Now I have used 4's and 8's before  but it only just dawned on me that I could use 5's and 10's and get the little blighters on the table with wee bit of painting and rebasing.

I also have a smattering of fantasy toys either in or near enough 15mm so they were added to the pot in order to have some games of Lion/Dragon Rampant with these long neglected models.

The games are based around the bitter rivalry between the Baron Oliver de Norville and the Baron of Castle Dunfannion, the redoubtable Conn Dubhmore.

I made a map for the setting, it has no effect on the game but was fun to make.

Pictures and reports of some games will follow soon, it should be fun...

I can see a lot of potential already in such a campaign. I reckon the addition of one or two more roads and villages (depending upon scale, of course) would make that fine map just the thing for the rival barons to plot their schemes and scheme their plots over...
    Cheers,

    1. I hadn't planned to use the map in the games at all Ion, it was just done as a setting for some games.
But I could add to it and do as you suggest maybe.
      Regards,
      Paul.
