Oathmark - Bridge the River

Battle four of my Oathmark campaign sees the men of Boarwick attacking the frontiers of West Orcland. Each have 2000 points for the battle to come.

The scenario dictates that the men must outnumber their enemies on the other side of the river by turn eight to win. The winner will be able to choose a territory to add to their "kingdom".

A big unit of orcs is blocking the bridge.

Trouble at east ford.

Trolls go on the offensive, they can cross water without penalty but they fall to a hail of arrows.

A champion and his knights push over the west ford.

But are flanked by more trolls.

The knights are disordered but do manage to kill a troll.

The situation at the east ford is going badly for the spearmen.

The last troll falls to archery.

Who's this? ,Gorbag was surely immolated at the last battle. It turns out that all of the West Orcland mages are called Gorbag!. They all look alike too.

This particular Gorbag can throw fireballs with some effect. Gor blimey!

Over to West ford and the Boarwick champion (the red die) slays the Goblin general.

The orcs holding the bridge have been driven off by the Boarwick longbows and the general and his knights pour over the bridge.

Before the bowmen can follow the giant gets stuck into them.

Gorbag attacks the knights with a poisonous cloud two turns in a row causing disorder and death which stops them from charging the orc archers.

The giant annihilates the bowmen and the men of Boarwick are narrowly defeated.

A fun battle, I am getting the hang of the rules now.

The West Orclanders can now add a territory to the outer ring of their lands. After much consideration I plumped for another river which would protect the trolls. While a territory is occupied by enemies the relevant units are harder to activate and have worse morale, having two territories would mean that both territories would have to be occupied to affect the units.
The new territory of the River Teez is at bottom left.
