Not to be deterred I jumped into the next battle of my fledgling Oathmark campaign.
The dice very aptly came up with the West Orclanders mounting a punitive expedition into the plains of the Barony of Boarwick.
The scenario was rolled for and came up as "Oathmarks" with the Barons men defending their ancient oath stones from destruction.
The armies were a little smaller for this game at 2,500 points.
I made the standing stones out of bits of a cork placemat.
The Goblin general detached himself from his wolfriders in an attempt to control the battle better.
The pikemen get badly bashed about. The red counter denotes disorder, green for activated.
While the victorious orcs end up disordered too.
I have tweaked the stats for both these units to suit the models. The pikes lose shielding and gain brace(2) and the orcs lose shielding and gain charge(2).
I just left the points values the same.
The wolf riders attempt to move through the trees and end up disordered before a good volley of arrows breaks them.
The scouts have to scarper from a unit of knights as a giant makes his way through the trees.
The knights charge the giant as he emerges from the trees. The giant reels away from the knights badly hurt.
The knights are disordered by the fight.
The Barons men advance into enemy territory and occupy the Dwarf town of Khazdum.

It seems like you are enjoying Oathmark rules and getting a variety of Fantasy units on to the tabletop.
ReplyDeleteI really like theme and the mechanics Peter, as for the rules the jury is still out. I am a fan of Kings of War and I keep thinking that the game would only last half the time if I used them.
DeleteUnits in Oathmark seem to get whittled away without breaking, sometimes to the last man. Maybe I am doing something wrong, time will tell.
Thanks for your interest.
