Oathmark - The March on Ukluk.

 After successfully occupying Orctun, the Baron of Boarwick marches to capture Ukluk the capital of West Orcland.

He is met by the West Orclanders close to the Goblin town.

The armies line up for battle.

Arrows fly and units become disordered.

Merrylyn hurls a fireball.

At the disordered Orc warriors who break.

Caledrath the dragon fights the giant.

The knights get the better of some trolls but end up disordered.

Revenants beat up the Boarwick spearmen.

The Baron goes after some wolf rider scouts as some trolls creep through the woods on their flank. 

Caledrath kills the giant.

But the spearmen break.

The Trolls attack the open flank.

The poor old Dwarfs have been whittled away by shooting and now meet their doom!.

The Trolls meet their maker.

And the dragon wipes out the Orc archers.

As the Orclanders had little left to continue the battle the Goblin general yielded.

With the capital taken the campaign is over and the West Orclanders become vassals of the Baron of Boarwick.

Oathmark - Deep Strike

 Battle six involves a strike deep into greenskin country by the men of Boarwick. 

A small mobile force of knights supported by the dragon Caledrath and Elf rangers attempt to take the town of Orctun (pronounced Orctoon in these harsh northern lands).

Arrayed against them is a strong greenskin force supported by Dwarfs, Trolls and a Giant. 

The Elf rangers emerge from the woods to shoot at the dreaded Trolls.

The knights charge home and have a fierce battle with the doughty Dwarfs which leaves them disordered.

The Barons knights are hard to stop.

After finding that their arrows bounce off the giant the Elves fall back into cover.

A pair of trolls attack the open flank of the knights.

But they actually come off worse against the gallant knights.

Having chased off the Elves the giant attacks the rear of the knights. He is an angry looking beggar!.

Despite losing a couple of knights their morale holds (rolling 10) and they push forward to break the badly battered Dwarfs.

The nearest knights under command of their general break the Orcs too!.

Caledrath makes mincemeat of the trolls.

And suddenly there is nowt but the Goblin general and Gorbag the mage in front of the Boarwickians.

The Goblin general flees the field.

Orctun is taken by the Barons men. Until Orctun is liberated the Orc warriors and archers will be demoralised.

Another cracking battle even if it was rather short.

Oathmark - The Lands of the Dead

 The King of the Dead rules from his stronghold of Dimnesele.

The king and his revenant companions.

Revenant warriors.

Skeleton spearmen.

Grisly, gory ghouls.

A necromancer and a vampire.

A wraith, a prepainted Combat Hex LotR mini standing at about 40mm tall. 

I am looking forward to getting them in action. In the meantime I have some Elves to paint.

Oathmark - Pitched Battle

Battle five of the Oathmark campaign is a pitched battle as the Baron of Boarwick and the Goblins and Orcs of West Orcland attempt to add more territory to their lands.

The armies are 2500 points (2480 and 2481 to be precise) which gives me an opportunity to use my new dragon model.

Deployed and ready to go.

The Orc warriors and Caledrath the dragon get stuck in. While a giant "sneaks" through the trees.

The orcs take a beating but manage to wound the dragon. Which fails morale (two ones rolled) and becomes "disordered".

Baron Boarwicks spearmen are disordered by orc archery. 

A combination of longbow shooting and Merrylyn and her fireballs kills off these trolls.

While the other trolls break the disordered spearmen.

The dragon Caledrath recovers enough to breathe fire upon the orcs but their somehow their morale holds.

The revenant dead attack the Locksley bowmen.

And the giant comes out of the trees to fight the dragon. 

Caledrath gets the upper hand.

The Barons knights deal with the revenants but in doing so expose their flank to the goblin general's wolf riders. The goblins roll to charge but with three twos on the dice fail their attempt. 

The giant dies!.

The orc warriors bravely charge in.

 

The knights charge in.

They are winning the melee but Gorbag intervenes with his poisonous gas cloud. I had heard that West Aucklanders eat a lot of beans!.

On the far flank the wolf rider scouts break the bowmen. 

The dragon breaks the brave orcs.

And after another poison gas attack Merrylyn immolates another Gorbag, the goblin general flees the field.

A fine victory for the men of Boarwick. They can now choose a territory to add to their domain.

They add the Elven forest of Gildorel to the Barony.

The forest is located at the southeast of the new amended map below.

Another grand game, I am thoroughly enjoying this project.
